The highly anticipated Dark Mode is finally here! You can easily switch between Light- and Dark Mode by accessing the “Settings” option in the sidebar. The new design update has also redesigned the cards and card windows to reflect recent UI changes.

Dark mode has been highly requested, and it’s received with open arms. We received great feedback, which made us delighted!

🆓💬Free text update

We also improved and added new features to our free text element. The free text element now has rounded corners, new alignment options, and background colors. In addition, you can create a new text element right, left, and bottom of an existing text element, making it easy to create new text elements instantly.

🖌️UI improvements

We’ve made several UI updates and improvements, including a new loading animation, updated card colors for light and dark modes, and better feedback while loading a board’s publish status. Our design team had a lot of fun while making the canvas more visually appealing, helping our users stay focused, and minimize distractions.

🔗 Deep linking

Our new update also includes Deep Linking for the desktop application. This allows you to link to the Scrintal App from external places. The only thing you need to do is to replace the https:// from any Scrintal link with scrintal-app:// and you are good to go!

Note: You need version 0.2.2 of the desktop applications to use the deep linking feature.

🐛 Bug fixes

We always try to stay on top of bugs and have made several bug fixes. In addition, we fixed several issues with file uploads, adjusted the Alt+O and Alt+L shortcut behavior on the text editor, and improved the scroll behavior on the mobile web version in focus mode. We’ve also enhanced the protocol support for external links, allowing any protocol for external links so you can link to other apps.

While these are only a tiny part of our performance-enhancing work, the complete changelogs can be found in the app or the slack community.

As always, we are committed to improving Scrintal and making it a more powerful, efficient, and beautiful tool for our users. In the upcoming weeks, we are, among many things, set on further improving links and card functionalities. So stay tuned to see how Scrintal continues to improve, and thank you for your continued support!
